WHY THE NAME?

Playing off the idiom “Punk’s Not Dead,” this coffee wasn’t originally a part of our business plan. We started Mishap without a drip coffee option but quickly realized the necessity of offering a readily available option for people on the go.

I’ve often found that drip is the most underappreciated of cafe beverages, both from the customer and the barista perspective. When we decided to add drip as an offering, I wanted to make sure it hit multiple objectives: easy to drink, consistently tasty, and full-bodied. Thankfully we found this coffee and it hits all those markers and some.

With a plum-like sweetness on the front end and a warm, full-bodied tobacco-like finish, this coffee is enjoyed by typically dark roast drinkers and those who enjoy sweet, low-acidity coffee. This coffee really proves that drip isn’t dead.

ABOUT THE COFFEE

Chiapas Mexico Honey Processed

This coffee is produced by farmers working with Cofincaf in Chiapas Mexico, who work with over 3,000 farmers in various regions of Mexico and source high quality SHG lots like this one. Honey Processed coffees are selectively picked and sorted and stripped of their fruit’s outer skin before being laid to dry. The coffee is dried until the color of it’s mucilage (a sticky, sugary substance that surrounds the coffee bean) reaches that of honey; this produces a predominant fruit sweetness in the roasted coffee.
